Why New Twitters become Quitters

Have you noticed that your following has been dropping a little? I know why.

3. They didn’t know why they were on twitter: they were only there to see what all the buzz was about. They didn’t have a distinct purpose whether it was business or personal: didn’t have an agenda just wandering aimlessly on twitter.

2. Didn’t want to take the time to connect to people. OK so this group knew they were there for business or personal but didn’t stick with it and became  frustrated and left.

1. People created FAKE twitter accounts to join Ashton Kusher, Oprah, and Sean Combs (Iamdiddy) and other celebrities. I am not saying these celebs had anything to do with that. However I can prove this statement and will do so this week!

Twitters Quitters Misrepresent

As a business person DON’T follow the famous twitters. Instead  follow your market. If you are into gardening then follow the gardening market NOT a major celebrities who is into gardening. If you are trying to get young women, older women, or the Hip Hop market don’t follow Ashton Kusher, Oprah, and Iamdiddy followers in hopes of gaining followers. Follow people with serious followings. Real people. Not just anyone.

If twitter retention level is low imagine how that is going to impact your conversions and partnerships! Its not the 60% of the new users but the 40% or less that stick with it and have a purpose there either for business or personal.

Entrepreneurs what do you want? Followers or Followings? The latter I hope.

PS Entrepreneurs The Auto DM (full name: twitter auto direct messages) died?
