My Story
I was born in a manger with my mother Mary and Joseph…..wait my bad that was Jesus. (Laughing)
The truth is I am a Online Business Consultant, Web Developer, 17+ year Marketer, and Writer. I am a native New Yorker raised in Chicago.
Since I was 12 years old I have wanted to be an entrepreneur. Combine that with my flair for speaking and you have one interesting individual. .
My Music Business Background
My career began in marketing and has worked for Motown, Universal, DreamWorks, Verve, Interscope Geffen, and Clear Channel Radio the largest radio conglomerate in the http://www.darrenmonroe.com/wordpress/wp-admin/post.php?post=2&action=edit&message=1United States. My client list included Nissan, Island Records, DefJam, Sony, and even the Barack Obama 2008 Campaign.
I have had the honor of marketing some of the most famous people in the world including Stevie Wonder, Gladys Knight, The Temptations, Limp Bizkit, 50 Cent, Eminem, Mary J Blige, John Legend, George Clinton, Comedian’s Chris Rock, and Dave Chappelle.
Also I marketed a bunch of major motion picture films such as Lord of the Rings, O Brother, Where Art Thou?, Meet the Parents, Gladiator, American Pie (I and II), Hannibal, The Mummy (I and II), and Pitch Black.
This resulted in some of the funniest and sometimes unbelievable stories.
The Disaster and the Blessing that Got Me Here
In 2005 I was working for Clear Channel Radio in New Orleans. One day I came across a book that was teaching people how to make money online from several sources. The thing that grabbed me the most is that I was doing that in the entertainment business for MUCH LESS. I read that book so hard the pages started to get weak and fall off.
I made a decision….. I was quitting my job and going to start a website.
Before I could do that Hurricane Katrina forced my wife and I to evacuate New Orleans. Imagine one minute you are at home talking about changing your lifestyle by going into business. And then the next moment you are packing all of your stuff into a car and driving hundreds of miles into the night. Insane right? The scary part was that we didn’t know if we were going to lose our home and everything within it.
After driving for miles me and my wife Cara finally arrived in San Antonio Texas. We headed there because that is where Cara is from and also that is where Clear Channel Radio is headquartered. We were NOT going back to New Orleans.
Thus the new chapter of our life began.
I began launching websites from a Red Cross paid for hotel in San Antonio.
My wife Cara loves accounting (she has been a CPA for a billion years) so she took a job in Dallas. And we have been here ever since. However my company is incorporated in Las Vegas (I LOVE Vegas by the way).
The Internet Kicked my Assets!
Boy would I love to tell you that when I started in 2005 I had INSTANT success. But I am too real to do that. In fact let me share a BIG truth with you especially if you are coming out of the corporate world.
Online it is not all about the traffic as we are trained in the entertainment industry. When you are running a company it is easy to become popular. But the real focus should be on being profitable. In no time I became a underground niche marketing authority. Between 2007 and 2010 I created and sold over 170 niche websites.
I was running wild because running that many websites was running me down. Even with a mini staff and with a content creation partners I felt something was missing.
And thats when I started to brand myself and take on the world. No more (or at least very few) niche marketing sites. I would get more transparent from 2011 on and begin to build my brand more attentively.
Since that time I have built a 6 figure business around my brand and am focusing on building it towards 7 figures by end of 2012..
Also I have had the chance to meet and or work with top performers like:
Fran Kern, Brendan Burchard, Bob Proctor, Brian Tracy, and Les Brown to name a few.

I stumbled on your website/blog and all I can say isI’m glad I did!
Your story is amazing and truly inspiring! I myself used to work in the music and film industry for over 20 years, marketing and project managing retail releases in special print and packaging, but in 2008 two of the UK’s largest distribution outlets (Woolworths & Zavvi – formally Virgin Megastore) went into Administration. It was Q4 and the crazy lead up to Christmas, and I had almost $1,000,000 dollars of stock in the network.
It was shut down overnight and to cut a long story short, they took me under with them!
I lost my house, my business, everything!
I had dabbled with IM during the latter stages of my business due to the obvious shift in demand from physical to digital product, seeing it as an opportunity to take my business in a new direction, but it was too little, too late.
And so my IM journey begins here and now. I am starting all over, but intend to start as I mean to go on, by leaning, building relationships, and sharing what I learn to help others along the way as I build my new business.

Or so I do not call myself that. I am a info product creator at most. I am a MARKETER and Positioning strategist of DVD Jeffery. LOL
Meaning I am the opposite of the DVD videoagraphers.

Currently working on the websites but my site this is my main corporation umbrella for my different divisions I created from other businesses I acquired from previous years that only require outdoor sales and some are seasonal. Like you I am a producer which I produce DVD imformercials or promo DVDs for local artist in Detroit where i also coolab distribution. but I enjoyed the blog especially about family and get a real job and off the internet.
