Well I already talked about Online Business Ideas for January (which for the most part are applicable year round). Now lets talk about February. In the USA it is still winter and there are two events or national importance here. Valentines day and Black History month. You need to check your calendar in your country if outside the USA. You will be amazed how many holidays popup throughout the month.

Here in the states no matter what niche you are in you could “show some love” to your audience with a valentines day promotion. That promotion could last all month if you wanted. Because it is also creative romance month. So here are some ideas to creatively romance your visitors and customers.

  • Give them something of major value for FREE
  • Whatever your audience LOVES write like crazy about that this month

Now regarding Black History Month (you know being an African America I wasn’t going to forget that ). There are a ton of things you can do.And you don’t have to be black to write about entrepreneurs during this month. Ask Frank Kern who did a brilliant story on Madam C.J. Walker some time ago.

  • Each day or week feature an African America entrepreneur
  • Talk about the African America Niche and the advantages of marketing to them (believe me a LOT of money to be made with us)

But overall keep it simple and relevant to your niche.

7 Online Business Ideas to Enforce What You Endorse

You should be able to “enforce what you endorse.” My twitter friends know that is a popular saying of mine retweeted to millions. This especially holds true online. The number one reason people don’t purchase online is trust. The question is can you backup what you promote? I am not talking about those proof of money claims you see the so called GURUs doing.

I am talking about real connections to people. When my Twitter Program is open for enrollment I usually list some very interesting people as testimonials. Like Aron from the UK who is a new Dad and a amazingly great guy! Or Monica Foster who is an amazing confidential life transition coach — particularly for veterans, women, and youth with disabilities. these are real people with real passion and purpose.

The following ideas are ways to enforce your endorsement of any personal products,  affiliate programs, and services you provide.

You must begin to understand that it is one thing to promote something but another to defend your stance on that promotion. Too many people are sending out a ton of affiliate programs to get a quick buck. The ads you see to the right of here I endrose because 90% of them I bought. And if the Go Givers Sell More is still up (said I would keep it up for the year of 2010) that is a FREE promotion! I don’t get paid for that. I just think if you are reading this article you need to get that book.

1. Answer ANY and all questions on WHY: your promoting your product, or affiliate program on your site. Also have a open forum about it.

2. Create engaging testimonials: that talk with people. have them talk about their life and connect with others as a person. And then talk about how that program helped them.

3. Create a video or an audio podcasts series: about what that program did for you and others. Audio and video sincerity reveals itself.

4. Share a funny thought: about something your promoting and also share (duh moment I know) the real facts about anything you promote. Remember nothing is perfect.

5. Do an anniversary promotion: if you have been promoting something for a long time like I have with say Niche Profit Classroom. Then you need to let people know you have been promoting something for over a year. That’s a really big deal with fly by night promotions online.

6. Tell them who the program is NOT for: people will appreciate your honesty. Everything is not for everyone.

7. Create a followup program after they signup to your program or affiliate program: but make it a real one. Not one of those blah blah bland autoresponders. Put some Ooomph into your followup with them.Talk to them about their progress ask questions and offer advice. Now I know some of you may wonder how to do this with a affiliate program. Offer a bonuses that they get if they signup through your link (vets I know you know this).

Well in Online Business Ideas for Identifying Your Unique Selling Proposition I discussed how to identify your unique selling proposition(s). Now it is time to create your unique selling proposition. But it involves less about selling and more about teaching. You are going to educate your readers and visitors so much that they wouldn’t DARE think of going anywhere else to do business. Also you are going to teach them specific things.

You have to differentiate from your competitors in a way that visitors will immediately notice the difference. A unique selling proposition involves something that your competitors either can’t or wont deliver.

I don’t teach you about blogging I teach you about specific blogging ideas. Same thing with my consulting which is not a general or typical consulting service. My consulting covers a specific area for specific types of bloggers and online entrepreneurs. Now it is your turn to get specific.

What that means is that you have to focus on micro niches and possible geo targets in your area. I wrote some good examples in my virtual assistants and personal coaches articles. You have to focus on specific areas that makes sense for you. In my example on this blog I am focusing on online business ideas (duh right?). What that means is that I looked deep into my DNA for my loves and talents. And that’s how I discovered that in entrepreneurship I wanted to really focus on this specific area. The part of entrepreneurship that gets me excited involves the creation and development of ideas. Yes that gets me excited, that and Janet Jackson and Halley Berry in a hot tub. But hey at least I get to live one of my excitement dreams in real life (laughing).

Well once you have identified what that is then you have to start creating some serious magic. Below are some critical ideas to help you with that exciting proccess! And remember it is exciting because it is what YOU want  and love to do.

1. Create a free manifesto: let people know what you stand for and don’t stand for that differentiates you from your competitors. Create a PDF from a word document. Manifestos can vary in size. They can range usually anywhere from a few pages to over 50. Write what you think feels right. Remember you can always do a part 2 in the future.

2. Offer for free what your competition may offer for money: let them know how really knowledgeable you are by offering HOT info for FREE. The type of premium information that your competitors charge money for on their blogs and websites. In this strategy you have to make sure that your readers understand that your free offer is only a small amount of what they would get if they buy your premium info.

3. Answer the problems that your competitors don’t or can’t solve: IF they don’t return messages or have an active forum then you should do the opposite. If your competitors are speaking in a certain tone you differentiate yours. Here is an example: I notice a lot of people in my niche (guys) sound hyped up. Though I am naturally passionate about what I do in many instances I have changed my approach to a more calmer voice. In that strategy I stand out from the hype. Listen to my message here to hear the difference between me and others in my field.

4. Offer real or authentic moments: share moments of failure and reflection. That will definitely help you stand out. You will look like a person not a bot writing blog.

You might be asking yourself. “How is creating a free manifesto and offering free information connected to a unique selling proposition?” The answer is simple. People buy from people not from GURUs. Your customers and clients purchase online from you because they trust you. These (4) ideas help you build trust.

  • Do number 1 and you will get attention and stand out.
  • Do number 2 and you will keep attention and stand out.
  • Do number 3 and you will convert visitors to customers.
  • Do number 4 and you will convert customers to life long clients.

I put a lot of thought into this article. And the absolute truth is that though I could come up with a several more ideas it is really not about me doing that for you. The real focus from this point on involves you developing those 4 ideas and then expanding them into several others to formulate a plan of action.       But first you have to make sure you know who they are first. This is easy just use your keyword phrases in Google and find the top 3-5 websites. Then visit each one and make an assessment.

      • Which competitor stands out and why?
      • How do you think you can stand out from all of them?
      • What are they offering in terms of FREE content?
      • What are they offering in terms of premiums (things for sell) content?
      • Are your competitors solving a problem? If so what? Don’t worry about how their site looks more about if they are answering the search keyword phrases.
      • What type of promotions are they doing? Do they have an email list? any special events?

      2. Now lets talk about you

      • How does the above answers make you different from your competitors online business ideas?

      The quicker you can answer the above questions the faster you can identify your unique selling proposition. Doing what everyone else is doing is death wish marketing. That type of marketing dooms you to failure. The smartest didn’t just follow what everyone else was doing.       7 Insane Ways to Develop Trust with Your Online Business

      OK so here I am answering a slew of emails that were generated from writing the Shocking Truth Revealed How GURUs Make Money Online. And one of the questions that appeared was how do you actually develop trust with your online business? Good question and I have some great answers. The reason I say they are insane answers is because being controversial, emotional, and admitting mistakes may seem insane to establish credibility but it is that human element that connects people with you. Remember people act on faith to build trust. There is no such thing as “trust me” because trust is built through faith and time. How many passionate and controversial people have you seen that led millions? Consider these online business practices as you develop a following not followers.

      1. Be Authentic: The first way you develop trust with your online business is by showing that you are a real person. You don’t have to come off as a super pro who knows everything a so called wannabe GURU. Say things that are real and  imperfect but completely you as it relates to your niche and business.
      2. Tell Stories: Some of THE best sales people who really don’t sell tell stories. I have been infamous by some as a guy with a story to tell about almost anything. Whats your story? The more you relate a real story (not one that leads to a purchase) the more you will grow your following, readership, and of course business.

They don’t worry about others because they are confident in their ability to hold their own. People will begin to believe you when you show that you are aware of other great blogs and websites. .       5. Stand Up for something that is controversial: I did a controversial yet what I believe to be fair piece on another internet marketer. Though I caught both praise and hell from both sides I stood my ground. I to this day believe my article was both honest and fair. You either try to get along all the time or make a stand. SAY SOMETHING DIFFERENT than everyone else in your online business. The idea here is that you must be prepared to endorse what you enforce. Ask Ryan Healy he actually names people and calls them out in a bold yet respectful manner and defends his position. My point here is make an argument for something.
      6. Admit a mistake: Hey I do bonehead things all the time (laughing). You will see that if you every signed up to my email list or watch me accidentally post a story with just the headline. We are human. tell someone when your wrong and I guarantee you it will get you serious points with them.
      7. GIVE A LOT OF SPECIFIC INFORMATION FOR FREE: OK I know your in business to make money. But you don’t have to nickle and dime people or a sale. The rule is 90/10 meaning 90%offer and 10% sell. Yes there will be some that always want free and never buy but that will come back to them. You get what you give and find what you focus on. Plus you will be VERY surprised with your return. Just make sure it is something you know well and are talented at delivering to your readers.

They have the type of authenticity that can’t be replaced with a freelance writer and some article marketing. Are they solving a problem? Yes. a simple one not easily noticed. They are sharing funny stories about women sexuality in a way that causes their readers to connect to them. If Erika, Nicole, Chrissy, Becky wrote a book together (it would have to be a hell of a title) they could sell instantly.       toiletflushI am encountering a serious issue of people who are promoting twitter follower programs. The problem is that they (the promoters/ JV affiliates) are obviously NOT benefiting from what they promote because they usually have less than a thousand people themselves.

      The other recent issue is the Spymasters a gameplay via twitter that encourages auto DM’s and tweets to people through their users. This is a game of sorts online but the issue is that we shouldn’t have to visit THEIR site to opt out of our twitter accounts which doesn’t seem to work anyway. There has to be a better way than encouraging players to SPAM their followers/ friends on Twitter.

      How NOT to Flush Your Brand down the Toilet

      1. Don’t Take your customers for granted: They spent their hard earned money with you so you at least owe them the right of a reply in 24 hours. And why aren’t you following up by adding more value? Embrace them because they are the easiest conversion. They are your greatest cheering section! Because they have already bought from you.
      2. Don’t Over promise then under deliver: Don’t offer the world and then they give you an outhouse. Will they buy from you again or tell others? I think not.
      3. Don’t Lie: Don’t have to be a “GURU” to sell. Just a genuine person that is offering something of value. Don’t make yourself out to be something your not. People are looking for products and services of value not a so called expert. Real credibility comes with time not title!
      4. Don’t SPAM: if you are always trying to sell. People will be always trying to ignore you.
      5. Don’t Copy others: Think about it even brand X is a brand. So why are you copying others? At least customize a PLR product (Private Label Resell) don’t just sell the same name without quality bonuses that match the offer. Or else it becomes a Poorly Labeled Resell.
      6. Don’t Offer poor quality products and services: make sure you are offering your BEST or don’t offer at all. Let a group of potential customers review your product or service for FREE in return for a testimonial.
      7. Don’t allow affiliates to do the other 6 things: Which leads me to why I wrote this in the first place. You could have an excellent offer but in the hands of a poor promoter it could damage you. Sometimes LESS people promoting your product is better.
      8. Don’t ask others to become affiliate spammers on Social Medias: Twitter is experiencing this a lot. Its one thing to tweet useful info or alert info but to open your direct messages area and see 34 requests to join a game in one hour is ridiculous and doesn’t help your brand.

      1.You don’t control the sites your linking to and your source feeding (building the other guys email list) your leads to someone else.

      2. The name has a stigma of “amateur” to it. Real marketers call them selves either marketers or their title alludes to a greater picture (entrepreneur, blogger etc.)

      3. Your not unique. You are one of thousands of others promoting the same thing. thus you have no unique selling proposition.

      1. Create your own independently owned site. Not a FREE site a site where you pay the hosting.

      2. Identify the purpose of your site. The purpose of this site is to teach Entrepreneurship Online via mental development and “how to” information. Whats yours? You don’t know? Go here and find out.

      3. Focus on creating, marketing, and over delivering value.

      DON’T become a affiliate marketer. Become a entrepreneur or marketer that employs affiliate marketing tactics and strategies but with control. Your control!

      Why Does This Matter?

      The big deal? Facebook being a large authority site could get your name in the higher ranking with Google/ Bing. So there is the hype, and actually that’s it nothing more. I don’t see the big deal because Facebook is actually behind as far as social sites go for this feature. Linkedin had vanity links for some time. It’s Facebook and their guarded policies that kept this from making this happen. The bigger you grow the slower you can possibly get. Ahem “MySpace” .

      I really like blogger Chris Brogans spin on the whole URL Facebook thing. He changed his vanity not to www.facebook.com/chrisbrogan but www.facebook.com/dotchrisbrogan. And has been catching hell for it for days LOL!Look at his intro comment below.

      I am not advising you to follow SEO (Search Engine Optimization) or go against it. I think you should follow your thoughts. Now that you know the SEO advantages you make the call. But remember before you begin to criticize someone because they didn’t follow the high and mighty SEO rules remember something…..   Entrepreneurs follow their own set of rules. Think about it, if you were into following what other people say you sure as hell shouldn’t be reading THIS site LOL!

      You have 3 options

      1. Either follow the use of your name to the Facebook Vanity URL

      2. Add your own creative creation

      3. Tell Facebook to go to blazes and keep your URL as it is.

      Its not the Link its the content and consistency inside.

      Hey this is a very known online entrepreneur named Gary Vaynerchuk who has a very impassioned video about telling the story. Now for the record I am still OK with the press release in certain areas and industries. The point here is to focus on his point about the story.

      Another way to look at it is like this. We are in a drive-thru society (coined from the drive thru created by McDonald’s) where we want it NOW. But we will spend good money to watch a movies and rent videos. Why? We want the story. The story is why Star Wars, and On Golden Pond, and the Godfather exist as such tremendous hits.

      Again don’t worry if you are publicity/PR person about his attack on traditional media. Its is one of Gary does best shake things up. In the future I will post options vs. traditional press releases.
