Little do you know that you as a entrepreneur have a wealth of resources. Unfortunately and mistakenly many of us consider money and credit as the only resource we have. Remember: the wealthiest people in the world made their fortunes based on their ability to leverage their resources. So it is very important that you as an entrepreneurs take an assessment of exactly what they have in their arsenal. In other words access your Resource Balance sheet.
Hopefully making an assessment of your resources will help you discover how wealthy you are and dispel any misconceptions of your ability to be successful. Using the following steps will assure that you get that much closer and become wealthy. I cant say it enough. Wealthy people leverage their resources to create value. How? I will discuss that in my following article about value.
13. Financial

One of the greatest misconceptions entrepreneurs have is thinking that money and credit (finance) is their most powerful resource. However it is the weakest. Because without the others resources you cant own money or have credit. Money isn’t power, only the perception of power (#7) along with a combination of other resources. Are you aware of how the other resources can have an effect on this one? How you focus on the other resources will determine the abundance of this one.
12. Research

Your ability to develop this resource will save and or earn you an infinite amount of money. My web research skills saved me an infinite amount. Not to mention time. The ability to research your options and pinpoint information is one of the beginning points of your wealth. How sharp are your research skills?
11. Skill

Your level of skill determines how well you execute the other resources. Skill is a talent refined or a non talent developed. I explain more in this article. Do you know your skills?
10. Education

Whether institution or experience this resource will help you make the best decisions with the other resources. How educated are you at learning and unlearning?
9. Talent

This is your natural ability to do something (anything). Talent enhances the other resources. There are two types of talent:
1. Something we naturally do better than others.
2. Something that lies dormant until it’s discovered in crisis (i.e. ability to save a life).
Are you aware of your talents? Are your talents enhancing your other resources?
8. Relationships

Your network equals your network says international motivational speaker Les Brown. Your relationships keep you from exhausting your other resources. Someone who for example knows your work ethic will naturally do business with you without you having to display the other resources. Effective relationships already define your resources to your friends and business partners. Obviously relationships expand those resources. Where are you effectively building your relationships?
7. Perception

Perception is what makes Google offer a billion dollars for a company that hasn’t even earned a Million Dollars (Twitter) Perception is how Ning.com is valued at 100 million. Perception can get you more business than you ever imagined! Some might argue with me but frankly those million dollar angel investments are based on partly perception. After all Google wasn’t worth 1 Million Dollars when it started with million dollar funding. Perception is powerful. How you perceive defines how you will achieve! One of the pillars of influence is perception. What are your perceptions about yourself and how are you perceived?
6. Passion

Passion is fuel for the other resources. Passion is the energy/synergy you create from both the want and need to do something. Passion is a direct tie to the heart and soul of all of your resources. When you have passion there is no fail. When you have passion you do it for FREE. Passion fuels the creation of value to your customers. Thus equating prosperity in return. What are you passionate about? How can you turn it into a business?
5. Execution (Action)

Execution is simply the ability to take action. Knowledge isn’t power. It’s the ability to act that’s power. The quickest way to kill “Analysis by Paralysis” is to take ACTION! What can you do NOW to take action? Not tomorrow but NOW! Do it! A half together plan is better than no plan at all! Are you taking action on something today? Do it!
4. Accessibility

Several of your resources cannot be in your possession without access. Though the most obvious is money (#13 financial). However access to education, relationships, research, and proper health care of your mental and physical well being are other examples. Also the ability to have access enhances your data for feedback. Are you enabling yourself to be accessible? If so are you periodically reviewing how?
3. Health

You can’t effectively negotiate the other resources without a healthy body. How you treat your body is important. What are you saying to it now?
2. Mental Attitude
(Passion, Spirituality, Focus, Positivity, Patience)

Your mental state can communicate to your physical health and other resources. No brains no resources. What is your mental mission statement? The godfather of self improvement Earl Nightingale said “What we THINK we become.” Where are your thoughts? Your mind is where your greatest battles take place. Make sure you are the victor.
1. Time

The reason this is the most important resource is because you cannot do anything without the TIME to do it in. The other resources don’t exist without your time. The more productive you are with your time the wealthier you become. The wealthiest people do what matters now and leverage their time. Besides reading this what are you doing now?
Overall your ability to assess and leverage your resources will determine how you create value and prosperity.
I guarantee you that if you take a moment and asses your resources you will feel wealthier. But the next step after that is the most important. Taking action to create, market, and deliver value.
