Google Wave Explained in Plain English
Share
This was the simplest and cutest way I have seen it explained. The real question is will millions actually USE it? Yeah the techies will but will people who are not deep coders, developers etc use it? The technology and idea is not nearly as in question as the usability.
So what does it really mean for businesses? Well it could mean that the cross platforms used to manage projects could be in danger if Google pulls this off. Google Wave to me looks like project management for Google in real time simply put.

I agree, this platform could be really useful for businesses! I have an account on Google Wave, unfortuantly I do not have many contacts on it to test it with.
Have you used it much?
Hey thanks Shane I am really not impressed with it. I use other tools that do what the wave is doing now maybe it is because I haven’t habitually dealt with using it.
Hi
Good information about Google.
Google wave is ahead of its time. In the future when the millennial generation will start doing project management, they will adopt use type of technology in a heart beat. However, there is no telling who will rule the market at that time. May be Google wave or something else.
This sounds exactly what we use facebook for. From that discription given it doesnt seem to differ in any form from a facebook events page, group page, or just standard page. Seriously…exactly like what facebook has already done.
Hey Weston thanks for posting. Hey I posted this months ago and I STILL don’t get the wave. The issue I have and maybe it is just me DOES it solve a problem for someone? If it does then it serves a purpose. But if it doesn’t then maybe it doesn’t solve OUR issues.
Honestly I haven’t looked into Google Wave very much. However what I take from it is that Google is trying to create a business version of the facebook communication system. If that is indeed what they are trying to do, I think they need to do it better; there is not enough innovation in it to drive droves of people to it. Seeing as I am not in a field which requires out of office collaboration, its not going to hook me, that is their problem. If they want it to catch on they have to get everybody like facebook has. Like some others have commented, not enough people are going to wind up using it, so unless offices require it, I think it will fizzle out. facebook as already secured the role of the digital Rolodex. You can instant message, quick message, compose long letters, create groups and pages, access photos, pull up phone numbers, locations, common friends…its too late for google I think. Wow, sorry Darren for the length of this response, its late and I am dazed from post op hydrocodone : / P.S. Your comment submit button is misaligned in my browser; it covers my comments box. You might want to pass that on to your web developer. Its Firefox 3.5.7 that its bugging out.
Thank you I will get on that for the comments area.
As for the comment on facebook I think your right. I am going to post a survey here cause I want to know if anyone is really using it and HOW it helps them vs what you were saying about facebook.
