Non Sucky Online Business Ideas for the SEOless

I thought it would be cool to offer some online business ideas for the SEOless. Hey lets keep it REAL. I am NOT an SEO (search engine optimization) expert but I definitely have studied hard to get the concept. I also acknowledge that you need to know it because it will help you write more consciously. However I wanted to write something for those people who would like to generate traffic NOW.

The reason I said non sucky is because some of THE hottest articles I received traffic from were not written with SEO in mind. Some might say I just got lucky. Maybe they are right. Or are they? Genius Michael Martine says that you should write for people not search engines. Why? Because people search for solutions on search engines like…. well actual people. So of curse the last thing they will ever do is buy from you.

SEO or not lets get some fire started in your blog and see what happens.

Disclaimer please read this: Before I go any further I want to point out that YES you should have social media presence and other things like a presence on forums happening for you. But if you don’t adhere to the three things below you are going to have a network of thousands online that don’t listen or pay attention to you.

1. You Talking to Me?!

Like the classic Robert De Niro question from the movie Taxi Driver. Hey have you looked at your headlines? Whats in it for the person reading your article posts? What problem does it help them solve? Whatever that is project that in a catchy headline post. Remember it is all about them so when you write make a list of benefits that people will get from your article. And say that at the beginning. Think about what I just wrote at the beginning. Will doing this get you more traffic? Simple answer YES. An eye catching headline is the anchor of intelligence. Also it is one of the most important areas of a blog post to generate traffic.

2. And what about that body?

I am not criticizing anyone but I have tried and think the whole list thing needs to be more specific and bigger. I do very few lists like that these days because I think it is one of the most poorest online business ideas in the world to become a parrot. You know the the type of post I am talking about. The one that lists just a few things and little detail.

Nothing wrong with a simple list until you read about 5 million of those things. Its like they spend an hour working on the headline and a few minutes on the body while using the bathroom. Smell that? I guarantee you it is NOT a successful body in your article (laugh). Be prepared to add detail. How will that get you more traffic? Well Google monitors the entire post. I have received  traffic from a phrase or set of keywords in a post. Just make sure you are writing to say something and not just fill up space.

3. Why are you different?

One of THE worst things about writing online in this niche is that I will come across a BORING same generalized blog. Why would you read someone else’s ideas and then repeat the same boring thing? If you can’t find your unique selling proposition then your in trouble. And you should rethink WHY and WHAT your talking about. I mean seriously how many times do you think people want to read “The Top Ten Boring Things blah blah blah” before they completely delete you from their mind?

Seriously if you want to increase web site traffic and don’t understand SEO then write from interest. Print media wasn’t good at SEO but they were great at headlines. They are good at writing for people not for websites for people looking for things.

Work HARD on your headline, work HARD on delivering exceptional details, work HARD on being different. Just because you read a popular blog doesn’t mean you have to blog like they do or even focus on what they do. Focus on your micro niche. On what you were meant to do. What were you meant to do? Ask yourself what you are doing for free that you love? Find the thing that people say you are good at and you will pinpoint that answer. I am a living example of this advice because I have shared online business ideas for over 12 years and I have only just begun.
