Online Business Ideas for BETA Testing Your Website

I talked about The Incubator, the Baby, and the 7 Foot Giant before. But now I will discuss in a little more detail. After you have run your business through the 7 Essential Steps to Launch an Online Busines. You want to create a live environment to test your idea. This is where the incubation process begins.
Remember incubation is just the testing or BETA phase. The most so called genius online business ideas may not be so great when you test them. I have tested thousands of things that have failed. As any real entrepreneur can tell you. We fail more than we succeed. What makes us a success is that we keep on going. We Fail Fast Forward because to a real entrepreneur failure is not a reality it is only a result. We don’t live in failure we learn from failure. I have a great example with 2 time Gold medalist aka the Michael Jordan with a skate and snow board Shaun White. As you see in the first video he failed again and again but in the second video he eventually he got it right.
In BETA testing the idea is to get as much feedback in the early stages as possible. What ever online business model that works in the BETA incubation phase will also work on a larger scale. The overall strategy is not to waste a lot of time and resources on something that may not work. Have you ever seen a successful small business and thought to yourself that they could make much more money on a larger scale? What your looking at is a BETA version of a business on or offline. McDonald’s started with one store.
Here are some Online Business Ideas for BETA Testing Your Website
1. Create a small email signup and social media presence and solicit target users and remember that you don’t have to blow your site up (yet). You just need testers. PS (I know DUH moment) add the BETA sign or words to your site so everyone knows your still in the testing phase.
2. Have a small scale limited access programs for your testers.
3. NEVER and I mean NEVER charge your BETA people: You need these people for feedback and for later promotion and testimonials.
4. ALWAYS respond to your testers ASAP: for the reasons I mentioned in #2.
5. Have conversations (take this one seriously) NOT announcements in your followup emails: You need to build trust with your testers and any potential onlookers.
6. Setup BETA blogs with updates: and always quickly respond to any comments on that blog.
7. Help your testers solve their problem: I was testing out a twitter application and I had two incidents where the creators could not solve the bug. In one case the creator just kept talking about how it worked for others. Nothing ticks someone off more than to hear everyone else can use your product than them. I will NEVER use their products again. You do not want to be on the receiving end of that situation. Because in my cas among 60,000 followers on twitter alone? Their credibility was SHOT.
