There is a movement happening through a organization that I will not mention at this point. They are asking people to sign petitions against Fox attacking Obama. I am a Obama supporter who has been educated by working on his campaign for some time now. I DO NOT agree with this petition. We need to focus on registrations by October. Since George Washington every president in one way or another has been attacked. The American press called for John Adams head. Some may say “well they weren’t black.” OK lets discuss that. Is what Obama is facing in these attacks less or more than what Jackie Robinson, the Nicolas Brothers, WEB Dubois or Jackie “Moms” Mabley or Muhammad Ali? Yes and no. Less in reference to the history.

Obama isn’t dealing with as much overt racism and discrimination as the preceding names. However Obama is dealing with more attacks because he is running for the most powerful office in America. With the exception of Rev Jesse Jackson (who the secret service refused to guard) no other American of African decent has dealt with such tremendous pressure of this kind.If Obama is going to be president this is only the beginning of the attacks.

We need to show the same obvious maturity he and his wife have shown to ignore the media (as we would a child throwing a temper tantrum) and focus on the campaign, the issues and the prize. Keep our eyes on the prize.

PS seriously consider the FREE PR they (FOX) are getting over everyone else. As the old adage goes “Free Press is better than no press at all” the petition gives them weight and attention that CNN, MSNBC and others aren’t receiving.

The goal of the press is to report a story not the truth but a story (and a good one)

Lets not play into their game. Don’t be out Foxed

PPS off the subject but very true. The Nicolas Brothers were the greatest dancers ever! I DARE anyone to challenge that statement. Look at the videos below.

Seth Godin is a marketing genius and wrote one of my all time favorite books “Permission Marketing”

Marketeers, Entrepreneurs, Artists Read carefully!:

What Every Good Marketer Knows by Seth Godin:

  • Anticipated, personal and relevant advertising always does better than unsolicited junk.
  • Making promises and keeping them is a great way to build a brand.
  • Your best customers are worth far more than your average customers.
  • Share of wallet is easier, more profitable and ultimately more effective a measure than share of market.
  • Marketing begins before the product is created.
  • Advertising is just a symptom, a tactic. Marketing is about far more than that.
  • Low price is a great way to sell a commodity. That’s not marketing, though, that’s efficiency.
  • Conversations among the members of your marketplace happen whether you like it or not. Good marketing encourages the right sort of conversations.
  • Products that are remarkable get talked about.
