The Funniest Benefits of Hot Online Business Ideas

This is an article that spawned from my post here explaining in detail how I actually home up with headlines and content for my site. So I figured why not actually write one of these online business  ideas for articles here?

The following are some really funny things that actually happened. When I created these posts they actually went viral.  Remember writing with a plan is definitely a good thing but sometimes a spontaneous article here or there can go far.

The Steve Jobs “incident” :The first funny thing that ever happened was years ago I wrote a very short post that asked Is Jerry Yang at Yahoo The New Steve Jobs at Apple? The next thing you know the fake Steve Jobs did a short post about me titled This headline made me puke. This was my FIRST big link from another blog. And at the time I was on vacation with my wife in San Antonio. When I checked my stats low and behold I had like 4000 hits in ONE day (laughing). What you don’t see in this article is that they called everything but a child of God. I guess he lost the comment section when he changed servers. Now at first I was insulted of course but after some thought I was like “cooooll” after all how many times does a legendary blog link to you?

The Scratch Your Butt and Sniff  “Incident”: Another thing I did was to make fun of all of the “get paid 1 Million Dollars online business ideas”. So I wrote Get Paid 1 Million Dollars to Scratch Your Butt and Sniff. And before my permalinks changed thus turning my tweetmeme to zero I had like 100 something retweets. I even talk about it in a guest post I wrote here.

I created twitterhug and it went viral: Again don’t judge by dumb old tweetmeme who zeroed out ALL of my retweet records after I changed my permalink structure. But before that I had a lot of retweets plus it still is viral today look on twitter. People I don’t even know (some I don’t want to know LOL) are using that around the world.

The benefits of all three is that of course I received a combined 50,000 in traffic . But another under the radar fact is that these posts led to business via purchases (yes I asked customers what brought them to me).

You never know who is watching.

Jerry Yang Tought Guy??

This has been an “interesting” couple of days. First of all I was out of town last weekend. So When i saw the numbers about this post I thought to myself. “hmmmmmmmm well I grabbed someones attention.” Then there is this post on the internet titled Who is this Darren Monroe and why is he assaulting my good name?” at first i thought it was from Jerry but it turns out its Steve Jobs….or should I say the FAKE Steve Jobs.

Then I received a now certifiable FAKE email that read:

“Dear Mr. Monroe I am really surprised to see your post. Though I have often thought of myself as a great entrepreneur. But I have never thought of myself as Steve Jobs. I think your analogy is incorrect. I know Google is a competitor. And right now the greatest competitor we have. However, I believe the offer Microsoft presented was not in the best interest of Yahoo. – J Yang”

Either this was a fake email (my guess) masked from Yahoo or the real thing.

If its real I can seriously see why you have trouble with Yahoo’s board.

PS he also said “In a word, Mr Monroe: No (he is not Steve Jobs) . Expect a visit. Soon.”

Oooooo Jerry Yangs going to “get” me oooooo.

I mean COME ON! LOL! Would this guy SCARE YOU??? Whats he going to challenge me to? Chess? Halo? Dungeons and Dragons? Star Trek Trivia??? I am pretty sure I can thump this guy into a coma with one finger LOL!

Now back to The so called Steve Jobs want to be. Amazing. That someone has dedicated their time to this.

I am not referring to the blogger who I think did this as a funny joke. I am referring to the nuts who actually responded to this on his blog. I have been called everything except a child of God in the last 72 hours! LOL!

Remember when Steve Jobs founder of Apple was obsessed about defeating IBM? Meanwhile Microsoft crept in and became their biggest competitor? Well Yahoo Jerry Yang has the same problem. He is so focused on Microsoft as an enemy he has the billionaire board fighting to replace him.

Microsoft and Yahoo are the only barrier to keep Google (who by the way I do love) from becoming a monopoly in several areas.

But Jerry is focused too much on the old blood feuds with Microsoft

**UPDATE I responded to the Steve Jobs nutcases that left comments on another blog.

Bill Gates did to Steve Jobs what Google is doing to Bill Gates

From hardware to software to open source (social) applications.

My how times have changed!

Remember the first Macintosh’s? Apple computers in the past were known for their cutting edge technology, in act they are today but with a few differences. What made Bill Gates his money was his ability to transfer easy usability of a Mac to ANY computer. By then it was no longer about the computer but the software on it. Today it is not about the software but the virtual software or applications. You can do the same thing on any computer on your Google apps, and documents that you can do from a Excel, or Word spreadsheets. The power that Google shares with Microsoft is its distribution capabilities.

Google stands apart from Microsoft however because of their ability to virtually reproduce their product/service at any volume with little or no cost. And in turn for the most part provide at little or no cost. I look forward to someone doing a movie about the search engine battle. Or the war on Open Social.
